BOOK DISCUSSION WITH BILL THOMAS
Dr Bill Thomas will be attending a private LLH book discussion group about his recent novel, Tribes of Eden. The group will take place at the home of Robin Dubovi who has six copies of the novel to share with those who register to attend. A great opportunity to personally meet an innovative thinker about elderhood! Exact time to be determined.
Dr. Bill Thomas (born October 13, 1959) is an author, performer and international authority on geriatric medicine and eldercare.
He took time from his busy life to pen a novel, Tribes of Eden melding his passion for elders with a gripping tale of what happens after America's sudden and utter collapse, a family finds sanctuary in the heart of a community thriving "off the grid."
But when the lure of "the GRID" divides the family, the elders of the community recognize that humanity's fate rests with a chosen girl and a surprising alliance between the least powerful - the young and old.
For Eron, the GRID provides everything he yearns for, everything he lost in the Fall - comfort, security, diversion, privilege, power, and... revenge.
For Emma, healer and post-rider of the Eden Underground, the GRID represents a menacing threat to her family and the sanctuary that took them in.
Despite flourishing "off-the-GRID," Emma and the Tribes of Eden recognize that humanity's only hope lies in the hands of its elders. Without guns or technology they must fight back with the only weapons they possess - stories, memories and wisdom.
Robin Dubovi won 6 copies of the book, which will be available to the first 5 registrants. She will also be hosting the event at her home and providing lunch.
